On the way to Zagreb you will come across the National Park Plitvice, one of the biggest parks in Europe which has been declared as one of the World Heritage sites by UNESCO. There’s a car parking at the entrance which only costs 0, 90 EUR per hour. Several activities are proposed to the visitors such as biking and hiking at the lush green surroundings. Get to discover by boat the Lake Kozjak with its awe inspiring waterfalls. Renting a rowboat from the lake shore is cheap, only 5 EUR per hour.

Zagreb is located 190 kilometers north of Park Plitvice. The city is divided in two parts, the historical Old Upper Town (Gornji Grad) and the modern Lower Town (Donji Grad). Four gates lead to the old town: The stone gate (Kamenita grata) to the east, Mesnicka to the west, the Opaticka to the north and Dvece to the south. The best way to enjoy Zagreb is to park your car and stroll along the stone paved alleys on foot. Parking is available between 7 am to 6 pm. You can buy your parking ticket from the automatic payment machines. Parking areas are near the central bus station and downtown. Car parking is divided into three zones depending on the location and parking hours. Red zone: 26, 50 EUR for 24 hours. Yellow zone:  13 EUR for 24 hours. Green zone: 6, 50 EUR respectively. Gas stations are open daily from 7 am until 10 pm.

Discover the beauty of Zagreb; visit the church of St. Mark and the Cathedral. Stroll around Dolac’s open market and enjoy a cup of coffee at Marshal Tito’s square. Just before you take off, indulge yourself in a short ride on cable car to the upper town, after all the cost is only 0,55 €.
