 Relax at the Plitvice National Park (Drive at the D1 Zagreb - Split highway). Park your car at the parking area just outside the park (1 euro /hour ticket charge). Plitvice is Croatia’s largest park and the oldest in southeastern Europe. UNESCO has declared the park as an "exceptional natural beauty and environmental harmony” and was listed as World Heritage Monument. Plitvice Park is a unique complex of waterfalls, torrents, lakes and incredible vegetation. Walk in the park trails (length 8 km) rent a bike or enjoy a ride by boat in Kozjak Lake.

 Zagreb is 190 km north of the National Park and is one of the most beautiful European capitals. The center of Zagreb is pedestrian-only, so you should leave your car at one of the 24100 parking places around the city center or at a private garage with internal parking spots. Zagreb has three parking zones. The parking spot in the red zone costs 6 KN / hour, the yellow zone 3 KN / hour and in the green zone 1, 5 KN / hour. The daily ticket cost is 100KN in the red zone, 60KN and 20KN in the yellow and green zones respectively. All daily tickets can be purchased at the post offices.

 The landmark of Zagreb is the gothic Ascension’s Cathedral and the church of San Marco, with the colorful rooftop, is nearby. On the west side of the square you will see the palace of the Governor, on the east side the Parliament and on the southwest the Hall. Visit the church of St. Catherine (one of the most beautiful baroque monuments) and the old Jesuit monastery complex, which hosts nowadays the Klovicevi Dvori Gallery. Sip a cup of coffee at Marshall Tito Square, opposite the National Theatre or savor the local delicacies at one of Tkaliciceva street restaurants. Do not leave Zagreb before visiting Dolac outdoor market (until 14:00) where local producers sell fresh fruits and vegetables.

 Pick up your car and enjoy little daily trips outside Zagreb. If you wish to take a cool dip during summertime, visit Jarun Lake. This artificial lake is ideal for swimming and sports activities such as canoeing and windsurfing. Jarun Lake has a number of bars, cafes, restaurants and some of the most popular clubs in Zagreb. Every summer, the lake area hosts a music festival. You can also visit Maksimir Park, located at the eastern part of Zagreb. The park first opened in 1794. It is a wonderful green landscape with woodlands and lakes. The park also hosts the Zoo Maksimir where you will be able to admire a wide variety of animals, including birds and various species of fish and crocodiles, leopards, sea lions, bears and a red panda.
