Geneva Car Rentals

RENT A CAR IN GENEVA

City of Geneva is the most important economic center of the country, built on the south shore of Lake Leman, the southwestern tip of Switzerland. Geneva can be reached by air with direct flights from the majority of European cities. Arriving in Geneva airport, pick up the car of your choice (you have already book it online through Globocars.com) or you use the central train to the city center and pick up your car from the central car rental.

Start exploring the city from Jet d' Eau, the tallest fountain in Europe (the height is 140 meters) located in the Lemman Lake. Roads near the lake have traffic but generally city's streets are quiet and easily accessible. Lake Geneva starts the river La Rhone which divides the city into two parts, the old town and the modern. Main attraction in Geneva is Saint Pierre Cathedral. To get from Jet d' Eau there, head towards the city center through the Gustave-Ador into Boulevard Helvetique and find the River-Centre Street parking (cost of ticket 2.50 CHF /per hour). Here you can leave the car and continue on foot to the cathedral. Near church there is the oldest residence in Geneva which has been converted into a museum the Maison Tavel. It's worth walking in the historic square of Geneva (place du Bourg-de-Four) which ends up the largest road of the old town the Grand Rue and the amazing Neuve square. There you will see the Grand Theater de Geneve and the Concert Hall.

If you prefer to receive your rented car from the airport you can be easily directed by Route de Meyrin at Rue de Lausanne to reach the Botanical Garden of Geneva. Entrance is free and it's open daily. Enjoy your ride overlooking the most beautiful lake. Near enough is Arianna's Park. Within you will find the impressive building, Palais des Nations, in which UN services are located and the Museum of the Red Cross in Avenue de la Paix.  The district Palais des Nation is the headquarters of many international organizations such as the European part of the UN, the UNICEF, the World Organization healthy and CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research).

An outstanding excursion is from Geneva to Veyrier Mountain Saleve. Use the cable car departing from Veyrier and transfers to Saleve Mountain, height 1380 meters. Do not forget your passports because mountain administratively belongs to France. Route Geneva - Veyrier is 19 minutes via the Route de Veyrier (7, 6 km). Saleve Mountain offers a spectacular view of Geneva and on the lake, perfect for those looking for a relaxing getaway at nature. When the sky is clear, visitors can see up the mountain Mont Blanc.
